Football Journeys End-of-Year Showcase Brief

The Football Journeys End-of-Year Showcase is a celebration of our young people's accomplishments and a key moment to demonstrate the impact of our work to funders and partners. Hosted and led by our young ambassadors, the event is designed to be a unique, immersive experience for all attendees.

A Unique Guest Experience

This is not a traditional event where guests are simply spoken to. Instead, we’ve designed an immersive and practical experience where attendees will be taken on the very journey our young people take. Guests will actively participate in our activities, using the tools we employ to help young people grow. This approach is designed to take guests out of their comfort zone, allowing them to gain a first-hand understanding of our work and the powerful outcomes we achieve.

Key Logistics

  • Space Requirements: Ideally, we're looking for a space with multiple breakout areas for our activity stations, and a larger, central area for speeches and fireside chats. We're flexible and can adapt our plans to make the best use of the space we’re given, just as we did last year.

  • Audio-Visual Needs: Last year's event required the following:

    • A large screen to display an organisational video.

    • Mics for the welcome and closing addresses, as well as the fireside chats.

  • Timings: This is an evening event running from approximately 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. To help ease nerves, we'd also love to have our young people visit the venue during October half-term to get acquainted with the space.

  • Capacity: We had a space for 90 capacity last year and managed 60 attendees. We would anticipate a similar number to our last event.

  • Catering: Last year's venue provided beverages and canapés at the beginning and end of the night for mingling and networking.

Last Year's Event Schedule

  • 3:30 PM: Arrive at the venue, set up, and prep young people.

  • 6:00 PM: Guest arrival, registration, and mingling (with drinks and canapés).

  • 6:30 PM: Welcome address and start of guest activity rotation.

  • 7:15 PM: Speakers / Fireside Chats. (Two 10-minute rounds with various speakers, hosted by an ambassador, with questions from the audience).

  • 7:30 PM: Carlos's closing speech.

  • 7:40 PM: Meet & mingle (with drinks and canapés).

  • 8:00 PM: Close.

  • 8:30 PM: FJ team packs down.

  • 9:00 PM: Exit venue.
