One-Week Youth Leadership Programme

A dynamic five-day football and film experience for the next generation of leaders.

The Football Journeys One-Week Youth Leadership Programme is a high-impact, 20-hour experience designed to ignite confidence and community. We combine the universal appeal of football with the creative power of film to help young people master communication, teamwork, and emotional wellbeing.

Who Is This Programme For?

We partner with organisations looking to provide structured, meaningful activity during half-terms or summer breaks.

This programme is ideal for:

  • The programme is well suited to local authority-funded youth programmes because it supports key outcomes such as youth engagement, confidence-building, physical activity, community cohesion and positive personal development. Its structured five-day format makes it easy to place within funded holiday provision, youth intervention programmes or community-based support initiatives.

  • The FJ Week Programme gives youth clubs, community clubs and organisations supporting young people a ready-to-deliver, impact-driven experience that strengthens their existing provision.

Using football, creativity and leadership challenges, the programme helps young people stay active, build confidence, improve communication, develop teamwork and connect positively with others in a safe, familiar and supportive environment.

  • The FJ Week Programme is ideal for holiday activity providers because it offers a complete five-day structure that keeps young people active, engaged and learning during school breaks. It is more than a sports camp; it combines football with leadership, communication and creative activities, making it a strong fit for holiday programmes that want to deliver both fun and meaningful impact.

  • The FJ Week Programme is particularly suited to organisations that bring together young people from different communities, cultures or life experiences. Football Journeys uses football as a common language to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes and create meaningful connection. The programme helps young people find common ground while developing empathy, communication and respect for others.

Why Choose This Programme?

FJ developed this intensive one-week version specifically for youth clubs and community groups seeking a flexible, high-energy enrichment option during school holidays.

This is not just a football camp. We use sport as a hook to:

  • Unlock Confidence: Challenging young people to step outside their comfort zones.

  • Foster Belonging: Building bridges between young people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Develop Responsibility: Encouraging participants to take ownership of their actions on and off the pitch.

The Impact: What Participants Gain

In inner-city communities, school holidays can often lead to social isolation. We provide a safe, inclusive space where young people stay active and engaged. By the end of the week, participants will have developed:
